Participants at the first Public Workshop, held on Wednesday, October 3, shared many ideas about the proposed path of the future Morris Canal Greenway. We also heard their insights about historic themes that could be highlighted on interpretive exhibits along the way. The Project Team is developing both an alignment for the long-term and for the short-term; it will take some time to develop parts of the off-road greenway. Much of the short-term alignment follows local streets and sidewalks close to the original path of the Morris Canal.
If you weren’t able to attend the Workshop, you can still download exhibits that were on display from the Project Information page. The next public meeting is scheduled for early in 2013. This will be another opportunity to review and give us your feedback on the draft Morris Canal Greenway Plan.
If you’d like to see the proposed alignments and have a comment to make, check out the interactive Community Map. The map will be available for feedback until October 30. Also, while you’re here on this site, sign up to receive notices about project updates. Go to the link under “Receive Site Updates” to the right.
